Sprout will compete at the IEM Katowice 2022 starting in mid-February, with the German organisation moving up to replace Chinese team TYLOO.
Sprout will get a slot at the IEM Katowice 2022. As the organiser announced on Friday, the Chinese organisation TYLOO will not compete at the tournament in Poland due to COVID 19 restrictions.
According to the ESL, Sprout moves up to the play-in stage for TYLOO due to his current 19th position in the ranking of the ESL Pro Tour of the "Road to Katowice". The rulebook for the IEM Katowice 2022 states that after 17 January only teams from the home region, in this case Europe, are allowed to move up.
Ahead of Sprout in the rankings are the CIS representatives forZe and Team Spirit. According to HLTV, both organisations have declined to participate due to visa problems.
The IEM Katowice will take place from 15 February to 27 February. Besides Sprout, two other German organisations, BIG and MOUZ, will be represented. 99Damage will broadcast the tournament live on Twitch.
